Meh, coming from Japan, an actual "take their relationship any way you want" is as good as a green light as you're gonna get. If they didn't want the homo they'd say so.

This. This whole discussion confuses me a bit. From what I can tell, everyone in Japan seems to think the two main characters are already doing it.

Also, turning the T&B relationship from "open to interpretation" to full on homosexual love would have 1) changed the whole dynamic of the show, and 2) taken way more than 25 episodes. (Barnaby didn't even call Kotetsu by his real name until Ep 13.)

I feel like this discussion is also selling short the effect the show did have on fans. There was a large, active T&B community on /a/ & substantial number of those fans started out as 100% "NO HOMO! & by the end were all "I JUST WANT THEM TO BE TOGETHER FOREVER AND I DON'T CARE HOW!"

Maybe it's because I'm a crazy fan and I just adored this show, but I feel like a lot of the discussion here misses the point of the T&B relationship.
