Notes:

Important: I'm really sorry about this, but I accidentally clicked the wrong thing and deleted the submission post from last week instead of saving it. Managed to save the first page (25) of secrets, but the rest (a bit over 100) are gone.

If you submitted something last week (Aug 26-Sept 1), please resubmit it here and it will still go up this week.

The submissions post for next week is linked below as usual.

One of my friends is watching it, and every time she brings it up I think of Teen Wolf xD

Me too! Either that or werewolves. (And no, I don't watch Teen Wolf.)

Same.

I actually watched the pilot, and it had nothing to do with werewolves.

I have had similar thoughts! No idea what it is actually about.

You should watch it! It's actually really good.

(imagine I made this reply to every comment in this thread, also)

It's kind of like the X-Men, I guess you could say. A doctor brings together a group of super-powered people, Alphas, to help track down other Alphas for the government, so they don't use their powers for wrongdoing.

I'm VERY behind, but I really like the show, when I can watch. :)

(Anonymous) 2012-09-02 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
It's like a really, really stripped down X-men. No code names and they rely on government funding and get around in a minivan. But the banter is *gold*!

I really wish the creative team could've come up with a better name for what are essentially mutants (just, it's their brains that are different instead of their DNA). It makes trying to find things on the internet a bit of a challenge. XD

LOL awesome secret OP :D

And now I want to see what happens if a show writer innocently googles the show to check out the fandom and instead is assaulted with a million fics about...well....

.... are you me? seriously, even if I'd heard good things about this show, I don't think I could watch it because I'd be bracing for mating tropes.

same ._.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-01 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
this show always reminds me of heroes

(Anonymous) 2012-09-01 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
anyone else think the dude in the top left looks like tom cruise

it trips me out when i watch the show because they gave him the tom cruise role of not having many powers, just running and jumping mostly
veronica_rich: (Default)

[personal profile] veronica_rich 2012-09-02 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Um ... his power isn't the running and jumping. It's being able to quickly assess a scene and take into account all physical possibilities and solve for physics, pressure needed, angles, movements of himself and others, and calculate the best and fastest nonobstructed path to somewhere in a second or two. He does it with projectiles, too.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-01 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought of werewolves, too, when I heard the title, but it's actually a pretty cool show. :)

It is such a terrible label for people with superhuman abilities IMO.

It's actually gotten really good since season 2 came along. Season 1 was a bit of a take-or-leave kind of deal for me, but I stuck around because of Gary. But now everyone is interesting and morally grey and not all GOOD VS EVIL but more nuanced. \o/

[personal profile] veronica_rich 2012-09-02 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed, except I do wish Rosen's daughter didn't feel like such a wet dishrag taking up space. It'd be nice if she DID something other than drifting here and there being an object. You know, like Nina and Rachel have actual personalities? Also, I would watch a Bill-Gary stakeout training film as an entire episode; I really would, LOL. With the occasional call from one of the others or Gary's mom to keep Bill from getting too pissed off.
dragoon: (Default)

[personal profile] dragoon 2012-09-02 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean. Right now she's more a trophy than an actual character, she means something to Rosen and Action Hero Dude (I cannot for the life of me remember his name, he's so dull to me - it's terrible of me I know) and she's important for the other side. I hope she'll be more interesting as the season goes on, but right now she doesn't have a lot of wiggle room between the two opposing sides. Maybe she'll come up with a third side, but it's more likely that she'll fall into the fringes.

Oh man, a Bill & Gary stakeout would be amazing. They should have their own cop buddy show or something, lmao.
