Notes:

Important: I'm really sorry about this, but I accidentally clicked the wrong thing and deleted the submission post from last week instead of saving it. Managed to save the first page (25) of secrets, but the rest (a bit over 100) are gone.

If you submitted something last week (Aug 26-Sept 1), please resubmit it here and it will still go up this week.

The submissions post for next week is linked below as usual.

I can ALMOST see the appeal of rooting for criminal characters (especially if the show is focused on the criminals) ... but sometimes I really wonder about some people and how much they think a character was "right" to do something criminal.

To be fair, the show IS focused on the criminals, and initially you're kind of supposed to root for them--because the main character only starts cooking meth to make money to leave his family since he has what he believes is terminal cancer. He's a decent guy, a loving father and husband, but with a small-scale boring job as a high school chemistry teacher; pretty stand-up guy.

Over the course of the series though you see him start to mature in the business, making more and more unfortunate decisions and growing darker and more poisoned by the work, because he's finally SOMEONE, someone respected and feared, and it's kind of like a drug, and half the fun of the show is seeing this character crumble as he tries to justify everything he does and ruins the lives of those caught up in his wake.

I feel sometimes like some of the fans are getting caught up in the characters' mindsets too, like in this secret.

It's seriously one of the greatest shows out there, and if you haven't watched it, I strongly suggest giving the first couple of episodes a try!

See I get that part of it... but like you said sometimes fans get caught up in the mindsets - and I think they forget that yeah, these are actually criminals and realistically they really should be stopped so it shouldn't be surprising when outside sources protest their actions or say they're criminals. Not everyone does that (I would hope) but those that do can be rather annoying and sometimes a little scary depending on how much they start defending the characters actions.

From the descriptions and everything I already figure it wouldn't be my cup of tea - it's best I leave it to those who like that type of show.
