Wow, that was really cool of him! Greatest car ride ever.

Though I guess everyone has dickish moments, and even if he was an asshole from time to time that doesn't necessarily mean he was an awful person. I never know what to believe about celebrities anyway, so I take it all with a grain of salt.

Oh no, wrong phrasing! I didn't mean it like he was a terrible person, more like what you said - that everyone has bad days and no-one's perfect. And from what I've heard, and the above poster said, he could be fantastically kind too. Just any time anyone says anything about how they discuss Davy on this tumblr, it's automatically because you're a Davy stan and you can't take a joke or handle the fact that he wasn't a saint. I love Davy (and all the guys) but I have no problem admitting that they're human and have made mistakes.

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, I think you're right, and I have to just deal with it or leave the fandom. I'm usually very laid-back and go with the flow, and I've never had an internet argument before. I just really NEEDED to vent about this! (I've never posted to fandom secrets before! I was completely desperate!)

It sounds to me like they're determined to hate him, for some reason. There are actors I can't stand, but that's from their public persona, so if some fan posted about a great interraction, I'd believe them because I don't actually know the actor, so maybe they are a lovely person and they just rub me up the wrong way.

That would get frustrating, yea. :/ Booo. Just because you like someone doesn't mean you're mindlessly in love with them and don't have a sense of humor about them. Some people are weird about that sort of thing.

It wasn't very good advice, I'm afraid. :( Maybe you could start your own tumblr? I saw that yeranonnyharry mentioned maybe starting one up too? So maybe you could still visit the main one, but try to give the fandom more options in the meantime?

It was so she wouldn't have to leave early and catch a bus.

I asked her what kind of car it was, and she was all, "I don't know! It was just a car - I was in a car with Davy Jones!" :D

And yeah, I look at it the same way. I'm positive they all have off days. Maybe those fans just caught them on a bad day?

Awww, that's super nice! Plenty of 'regular' people wouldn't do that sort of thing, so it's cool he took the time to.

I wouldn't be able to deal with riding in a car with Davy Jones though. I'd suddenly get verbal diarrhea and make a fool of myself. My -whatever age I was kinda in love with the Monkees- self is envious anyway.

Probably, yea. It's pretty common to hear at least a few negative fan stories about celebrities, no matter how nice they seem. I don't take them too seriously.
