That's what good games can and are supposed to do! I don't think that it is too much emotional investment at all, I think it's what makes the experience special and should be valued. (Not feeling bad, of course, but being invested and caring about the characters)
Though this comes someone who's still not over ME3, so take it with a grain of salt I guess? Haha.
