Some of the books are great and some of them are horrible. It's a very mixed bag, IMO.

But I think it's kind of funny to see the authors all trying to undo each other's ships. Seriously. Like, one author will make it look like Lando and Mara hooked up, and then in some book down the line another author has them going
"wtf no we were undercover pretending to have a relationship!"

I found Mara likable enough as a character in the trilogy she first appeared in, but she can be pretty horrible depending on who's writing her. And I always liked how open-ended she and Luke were in the Thrawn trilogy, so when that opening got tied closed, I was kind of disappointed.

Yeah. D: The books were too weird for me, so I think I'll just stick with the movies. XD Even if George Lucas's directing in the new trilogy isn't that...great (D:), they're still good movies.

In my opinion, at least.
