1. Not so much fandom in general, per se, but I wish I could get my parents to like some of the things I do, too! At least my dad seems to like Evangelion XD Good luck with getting your mother to join in!

5. Oh man, I do the SAME THING, except not with Rhythm Emotion, but with all sorts of songs! And not only just original characters, but sometimes I do that little "imagine an OP animation to song X" with books, too >u< So no, you're not weird!

4. Awww, you should give it a chance! Even if you don't think you'd ever like Paige, there's still the first three seasons (with Prue). Also, I never particularly thought Paige was very Mary Sue-ish. Both she and Phoebe can be annoying on occasion, and some of the later seasons were really spotty, but I still think you should give it a try. Don't let a bad RPer keep you away!

I have wanted to play this game again for YEARS, but I run OS X now and it just doesn't work anymore. SO SAD.

Personally I can still play the game, but the one downside I've found to still being able to play Alpha Centauri is that I simply cannot enjoy the new Civilisation games. Simply because no Civ game can ever get close to the beauty that was SMAC.

1. Does she watch TV? You guys can get into some ongoing series, and talk about that. It's not quite the same as fandom, but me and my mom watch and discuss Lost, Heroes, and Desperate Housewives together. It's a fun way to bond.

I couldn't read those books because...ew D: Luke getting married to Mara-Jade SQUICKED me, even when I was a kid. And it didn't squick me because I was a slash fan, or wanted him to get together with a Sue or something.

I just...wanted Luke to be a single, ass-kicking Jedi. D: Jedi aren't supposed to love and get married--that's what killed ANAKIN SKYWALKER. And yet...Luke got married. D:

To a professionally-made Sue. D: It made me sad. Very, very sad. And sick. XP

And hey, we all write dumb sues when we're young. It's fun. XD Well it isn't now, but back then, when we were small children, it was awesome. I had one in my mind that was dating Link from Legend of Zelda back when I was ten. XD

Some of the books are great and some of them are horrible. It's a very mixed bag, IMO.

But I think it's kind of funny to see the authors all trying to undo each other's ships. Seriously. Like, one author will make it look like Lando and Mara hooked up, and then in some book down the line another author has them going
"wtf no we were undercover pretending to have a relationship!"

I found Mara likable enough as a character in the trilogy she first appeared in, but she can be pretty horrible depending on who's writing her. And I always liked how open-ended she and Luke were in the Thrawn trilogy, so when that opening got tied closed, I was kind of disappointed.

1 - I managed to get mine to watch Escaflowne. That was weird, but nice. It didn't last long, though, and I haven't tried since.

11 - Remus/Tonks is hard for me to picture, too. (And I do love making jokes about Tonks putting on Sirius's face.)

20 - Haha, I did that too. Then I went O.O when he died. I wasn't expecting it AT ALL.
