Important: I'm really sorry about this, but I accidentally misclicked and deleted the submission post from last week instead of saving it. Managed to save the first page (25) of secrets, but the rest (about 100 or so) are gone.

If you submitted something last week (Aug 26-Sept 1), please resubmit it here.

The submissions post for next week is below as usual.

That guy who plays Teatime is so damned creepy. On the other hand, I have a severe case of " Oh, It's That Guy!" because of "Revenger's Tragedy".

Did someone say Revenger's Tragedy

I love that movie. Eccleston is delicious! Not to mention the awesome "ventriloquist" scene in the catacombs a few minutes in.

Interesting connection, Anon. I love it. I think I find Teatime way creepier for some reason than Loki. Huh.

Well, Loki just went mad (well, madder) and is at least tortured about it. Teatime is just plain horrible apparently from birth.

*nods nods*

And that actor's delivery is just so well done. *full body shudder*

(Anonymous) 2012-09-04 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
So true! He is the only villain to date that makes me want to grab a bar of soap and start scrubbing away the visceral sensation of ick that I feel during his scenes.

Well no, not perfect but not totally imperfect either. :D And egads that voice. I wish you hadn't reminded me!

Okay, there was a Discworld movie? How the hell did I miss that?

Please, more information?

There were 3 tv movies produced by and aired on Sky in the UK.

Yes, and IMHO Hogfather is by far the best of them (though Colour of Magic is pretty good too).

Really? So far Going Postal has been my favorite. I loved Hogfather, but I think it had some serious pacing issues (especially since they don't really explain that it was the Tooth Fairy stuff that caused him to vanish and that the reason they happen out of order is because time went a bit wibbly).

OMG SO ACCURATE JESUS CANNOT UNSEE

(Anonymous) 2012-09-03 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG HOGFATHER :D

And yeah, I love both Teatime and Loki so I can definitely see it..!

woobie villains

(Anonymous) 2012-09-04 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I can see it, mostly because I usually woobify villains, but couldn't manage it for Teatime or Loki. I found Loki obnoxious, but Teatime legitimately terrifying. When I first realized Teatime actually had fangirls I was horrified. I don't care who the actor is or how hot you find him, he's one creepy motherfucker.

Re: woobie villains

(Anonymous) 2012-09-04 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
...Teatime has fangirls?

I'm... very disturbed.

Re: woobie villains

(Anonymous) 2012-09-04 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he does. I remember being all "yay! Discworld fanart! Let's see what else they've--oh, fucking hell." I think it's probably down to the actor's looks, at least I hope so. Anyone who came out of reading Hogfather thinking Teatime just needed a hug--well, let's just say I hope they never run into a good-looking psychopath, because they wouldn't last long.

Re: woobie villains

(Anonymous) 2012-09-04 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
Err...*raises hand* I liked Teatime. And I've never seen the movie, just read the book. (Though I also don't participate in the Discworld fandom much).

I liked Teatime because he was creepy, and because he was interesting, because I wanted to read fanfic about his youth, because he had serious hang ups, and because I often like villains anyway.

Though I do agree that I like him because I'm aware he's a villain - I'd disagree with people who woobify him as much as they woobify, say, Loki.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-04 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
OMG. I can't unsee it now either but that's ok because it's awesome!

(Anonymous) 2012-09-04 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
Teatime! One of my favourite villians, both in the books and the film, because he is so skin-crawlingly terrifying. *shudders*

Not sure I see the connection with Loki, though. Loki seemed more like a kid throwing a tantrum who got in way over his head and felt he was too far gone to stop.

OP

(Anonymous) 2012-09-04 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Like I said, the analogy isn't perfect. The quote is the nutshell version -- the mad kid nobody (in-universe) likes (but who the audience isn't supposed to agree with) with no real grasp of the consequences of his actions. (I came up with it after thinking that many people seem to be thinking Loki=weird kid no one liked=nerdy social reject=themselves, but especially by Avengers that is clearly not what the creators are meaning them to think, so what other kind of weird kid no one liked is there...) Loki's like a kid throwing a tantrum; Teatime described himself as an unleashed inner child. They also share a total disregard for others' mental autonomy -- and, y'know, others' lives, but that last bit is shared with so many other villains I'm not sure it should count.

So, yeah. Not perfect. Just... stuck in my head.

Anon... Anon... ANON!!!

OMG YOU MADE MY NIGHT! I SERIOUSLY CAN'T BELIVE THIS IS HAPPENING ASGHFGHAGHFHJ!!! *spazzes*
Loki AND Teatime in ONE secret? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH SO GOOOOOD!!!
