…But sometimes online friends become real life, face-to-face friends. Just because yours didn't doesn't mean other people's won't. Some of the people I spend the most time with IRL are people I met in fandom.

You say yourself you were too tired to give energy to friendship. Whether they are online friends or fandom friends, if you don't put energy into your friendships, it's going to be hard for other people to put energy into you. It sounds like OP is trying to be there for other people and prioritize friends who need her/him, even if they're not real life friends, and that's not a bad way to build lasting friendships.

But I'm sorry you're so lonely and unhappy, OP. I know how hard a consuming job can be. :(
