It really depends on the website. If I'm on 4chan, for example, default assumption is male. Livejournal/DW? Female. Tumblr tends to be about 50/50 for me, depending on the content of the blog.

I don't think it has so much to do with the writing style of the people invovled as it does the climate of the site. Although, the only people I read as incontrovertibly female are the SJWs.

Really? That's interesting. I generally assume half and half. But I think that's because I'm much more likely to assume trolls are male for some reason. So it evens things out.

Possibly because trolls like to bring up rape and misogynist topics? I assume the same thing.

Probably. I still feel bad about that assumption though because girls can be just as mean as guys. I just don't know how to change it in my head.

Not trans guys? Esp on tumblr? But anyway, reasonably inaccurate.

I assume either female, gay male or trans for SJWs. Definitely never straight cis male though.

I assumed SJWs were female until I met a gay guy (who, like many SJWs, was so caught up in his own causes that he couldn't fathom that other people had issues, too) who was one. They started popping out of the woodwork after that. Ugh. I pretty much hate them all.

I thought tumblr was 90% female but I guess I just follow really female-oriented tags
