(Anonymous) 2012-09-08 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)They made her overly sexy. When she was talking about her parents being killed by the borg I didn't feel that having in a fanboy costume was appropriate. I guess what I mean to say is that I found the emphasis on her breasts distracting. They put her in a corset and did a lot of shots to bring attention to her chest. I wish she had been in a uniform like everyone else.
IRL Jeri Ryan dresses great. She has done great serious work. I think she was perfect for the part as an actress. It's the costume department who screwed up.
I know some people said that Andrew Garfield has a large butt and they found it distracting in a serious scene in Spiderman (though I haven't seen the film myself). It's not just a breast thing. I would have found it inappropiate if in TOS Kirk has talking about the massacre on Talos V with his shirt off and all oiled up.
Urgh, I have a large bust myself as well.
