I'm just going to address the fact that in general, bisexual women are far less threatening to men than lesbian women, that the Claudine books were perfectly legal in England, but then The Well of Loneliness came along and then suddenly there was an obscenity trial, that turning lesbian women bi is a tried and true fiction trope, and lesbians keep getting proposals from men hoping to turn them bi/straight, and same with pressure from parents.

Women who don't want cock are terrifying to most of society. Lesbianism, to most everyone, isn't just about desiring women.

But, you know, people really really suck, and biphobia does its damage too :'(

As for fic though, why can't people ship what they want?

Biphobia sucks, but it's really a big circlejerk where everyone is horrible to everyone else over teeny tiny differences. Being the only lesbian in a group of bisexual women can suck pretty bad too.

That reminds me of a guy I stopped seeing. This is what he roughly said to me, god knows why he did:

"Lesbians are the challenge for guys. But bi girls are salvageable."

He subscribed to the idea of an actual lesbian-curing cock. Dumbass should have kept his mouth shut, but anyways, people.

In fairness, I'm not sure this man was intelligent enough to fully grasp the meaning of the word lesbian. So maybe he's just really really stupid?

Nice try, but a lot of guys think that, and bigotry isn't all that correlated with stupidity, sadly.

But that's assuming that those wanting to ship Kanaya with a male are men. Some of us just want to see bisexual characters or are more interested in shipping characters than their dangly bits. If trolls even have dangly bits.

I'm not addressing the fandom part, I'm addressing the queer erasure part. So no.

That complaint is understandable with characters like Buffy's Willow, but dude, you're talking homestuck here.
