The whole: Character A has always been in love with Character B, but thinks B is too good for them, then B starts showing what is *obviously* romantic interest, but A thinks it can't possibly be reciprocal love. Then, somehow, B tells A that they love them too. Made better by plenty of self-flagellating by A which B magically clears up with their epic love.

I'm sure there's probably a shorter way of expressing that...
