Prove that when you think being logged into a site like DW, specifically in FS where being anon is not the norm but an option, makes you a dick is a rational and logical response.

Instead of, you know, what they say and do.

Like, I think you're being a dick right now and purposefully obtuse. I think you're also just spoiling for a fight because you're bored. I think that because of what you've said, even if you're anon you're still a dick. You're not a dick because you're anon though. Get it?

I never said it was a rational response. I quite clearly said that it was a response to the state of being logged in and nothing to do with what they say and do. And, indeed, that I feel this way even about the logged-in commenters that I agree with.

As for what you first said. Mmmm, I read it wrong then. I thought you were saying that while you may know it's irrational you stand behind it. You were gonna go down with the ship, so to speak.

Okay, so I know I'm just an attention-seeking dick and maybe my input is worth less because of it, but I really think this is just a sort of cultural difference. It sounds like you're used to internet spaces where everyone's anon, and if that's the case it totally makes sense that anon is the default to you. But please keep in mind that on lj (the current or past fandom home for many of us here), having an identity is the default.

Not to mention, if you go anon it's hard to keep track of answers unless you're hitting refresh like a loony and have 2 hours ahead of you to check F!s right after the daily post has been posted.
