In the large scale of things we all wear makeup because society tells us too, like I technically wear makeup for myself but I know that I only think makeup looks good because society has been drilling it into my head for years that it looks good.

That pretty much goes for most things women do to feel pretty, and I don't think anyone should judge you when we're all doing something similar either consciously or unconsciously.

(BTW though I do feel women should do whatever they want in terms of their appearance, I just think we need to recognize how society skews or views of what is beautiful and what isn't.)

You can never escape from this.

We will never have a society that is without opinions. Never.

What they like will change, but never that they will like, and teach you to like.

Even those aware can't escape it!

Which doesn't mean we shouldn't try to change things so women (and men) don't have to do shit that's uncomfortable, or even downright dangerous, to fit society's ideas of "beauty", or be treating like a freak if they don't.

We'll, I'll admit that a lot of high heels could probably be let go. Girls who don't have legs made of pain are sexy too.

I don't. And even when it's a function where, technically, you're supposed to? I still don't. I hate the feeling on my face and I hate how much time it takes to do so. Plus, I have no clue HOW to put on makeup (yes, at 24) cause I hate it so much.

So, no, here's one person who doesn't fall under that stupid societal pressure to wear makeup. And I don't like the assumption that we ALL do when that isn't the case.
