Everyone is different Anon. Some people just like wearing make-up, regardless of how other people will see them.

Somewhat unrelated: I never wear make-up, I've never worn it. I don't even know how to apply it... This however never however stopped my grandmother from getting me the same set of horrible red and pink lipsticks at Christmas every year.

Haha, I think I got lucky in that respect, my grandma always sent me the most awesome socks, like, knee high green and black pantyhose style socks with bows kind of things!

That said, I never started wearing makeup until my twenties, and even now it's hardly ever more than a light brush of foundation to pretend I don't look like a zombie and some lipchap/lipgloss so my lips aren't dry.

I was always more of a crazy nail polish girl, you know the one where every nail was a different fluorescent colour? XD

Your grandma sounds awesome. Christmas with my grandma was like present opening Russian roulette. She had to have list from all the grand kids every year, we don't know what she wanted the list for. Nobody ever got anything off their list. I'd get the lipstick, dress shoes I never wore, the rest was always a "surprise". You'd smile, and say thank you, and later all us kids would get together out of adult earshot with our hordes and play "Ok, Does Anyone Know What The Fuck This Is?"

It's one of those Christmas traditions I actually really miss now that she'd gone.

She was a very awesome lady, I miss her. :/ But she was 89 when she died so she'd had a good run, and she was still volunteering and taking university classes right up until the end. She was definitely one of a kind. XD

This. I hate how makeup smells and feels, wore eyeliner only in highschool and have stopped wearing anything at all for the last...ever. I just can't stand how it feels on my skin, or how it smells on my skin.

Plus, i was always forgetting and smearing the eyeliner around. It's a pain and expensive and i don't see the point.

My daughter loves the stuff. Go figure.

Glad I'm not the only person who thinks the texture of makeup/hair product is weird. It smears everywhere and it's very sticky. No me gusta.

HAIRSPRAY.
My daughter starts spraying it around and i start coughing. Have to go *far* away. Plus, it makes every surface so very gross and tacky and hard to clean.
