Re: Trans stuff

(Anonymous) 2012-09-11 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
There are groups and stuff but what I really need is the hormone stuff. Most of the groups are support/therapy groups and while that's great and I might end up contacting them, they're not really what I'm looking for at the moment. Although if they might have anything more locally it might be good. I'll look into it, thanks.

I'm fairly sure the one I've found is the only one in the area and she's the one that most of the organizations seem to recommend. It does seem weird that a large city like Vancouver would only have one person specialized to that sort of thing but I haven't found anyone else. I think only specific therapists can actually recommend someone for hormone treatments and do the analysis. So I do think I'll probably end up asking people directly since Google is failing me at finding anyone else.

even though the groups all advertise as support-only, you might be able to get personal therapist/doctor reccomendations from the other trans folks you meet. like citrinesunset said, it may be the case that there are many specialists able to prescribe hrt, but just don't advertise it for some reason.

best of luck!
