Bad dreams-- what the fuck is this?

(Anonymous) 2012-09-11 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
So... how "bad" do bad dreams have to be before they're worrisome? Is there like a limit even, or...?

I'll explain-- I've been having recurring dreams about being physical hurt, wounded, or dying. About once or twice a week, sometimes more often.

The thing is, they're usually all connected with something that has happened to me, or approximated a sensation I felt before. The latest one I had was last night, and I was throwing up blood from an ulcer. I have a doctor who suspects I have a ulcer, and while it's uncomfortable, I've not thrown up blood yet.

Other things like getting my throat slit, getting stabbed, slowly dying... The weird thing is, I'm never afraid of these dreams? They feel good. I wake up and feel peaceful after having dealt with some horrific bodily issue.

I have a long history of injuries that go untreated, so... is this just my mind's way of giving me closure?

Can you guys give me some advice?

I don't think it's really a concern if it's not impacting your health or sleep patterns. From what you've said, it sounds like they're just kind of weird but not negative really in any way. Sounds exactly what you said, your mind just processing the data and sort of getting closure.
