Re: Characters you never thought you'd fall in love with?
movie!Pepper Potts.
Cordelia from Buffy and Angel.
About 23 different characters on Star Trek DS9. Especially Quark.
Minerva McGonagall and Neville Longbottom.
Jesse and Hank from Breaking Bad.
Jimmy Olsen from DC comics.
Elliot from Scrubs (it didn't help that one of the first Scrubs episodes I ever saw was His Story II).
I have this weird thing where I CONSTANTLY fall in love with characters after seeing them get bashed by fandom, even if I wouldn't have given two shits about them if I hadn't seen the bashing. It's not even intentional on my part, it's just that the more fans bash a character, the more sharply the character's ignored good qualities stand out, so I notice those characters' good qualities a lot more clearly than I would see the good qualities in a character fandom was indifferent to or just mildly liked.
