Oogie Boogie was a racist stereotype? Where did they get that idea from? His voice? His voice always reminded me of a Texas oil tycoon.

I had the biggest "Oh, THAT'S what that's from!" moment when I watched The Old Man and the Mountain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoJkxNa6v14 and heard the lines "what are you going to do?" "I'm going to do the best I can." I thought it was really cool that they used Cab Calloway as the inspiration for Oogie Boogie's movements and dancing.
