Classical composers - Canada!
(Anonymous) 2012-09-12 01:01 am (UTC)(link)The most famous composer right now is probably Howard Shore of the Lord of the Rings fame. Other composers you might know are Brian Cherney, Malcolm Forsyth, Glenn Gould (most well known as a concert pianist, he composed original works for piano and arranged and transcribed orchestral pieces for piano), Alexina Louie, and Howard Cable (though well-loved for his concert bands compositions, he composed the original theme for Hockey Night in Canada and arranged the TV version of Dolores Claman's "The Hockey Theme". His arrangement of Claman's theme replaced his own earlier theme, and is the version that you hear on TV today).
