Do you mean those Steve/Tony fics where Steve basically controls Tony's life and disregards his wishes and treats him the way Victorian men treated their sick wives, and acts like Tony's eccentricities (like staying up all night in the lab and forgetting to eat) are indicative of Tony being a complete non-functional headcase and he therefore has to be controlled and stripped of making any choices of his own and treated like a young child? And the authors have Tony be all ~grateful to Steve for "fixing" him?

Because yeah....those are disturbingly common and always take Steve's side. I'd think that fic writers, who are mostly girls, would have more awareness of how fucked up that kind of behavior in a significant other is.
