Almost everyone in SG-1
Batman, Superman, Wonder woman, Green arrow...the first generation.
And most of all, Captain America. Thank you movie!Avengers fandom. Thank you for writing him as a dickhead and an abusive asshole while not thinking he's either of those things. Good job. :/

I've seen a handful of those fics but they're in the minority of what I read of him. You've found a lot?

Wha? I've seen Cap unfairly portrayed as a dick in character bashing fics, but not written in a dickish way while still supposed to be good.

I'm actually kind of curious now. Can you give us some examples of how he's written as abusive? 'Cause I'm starting to wonder if I might be thinking about what you're thinking...

Do you mean those Steve/Tony fics where Steve basically controls Tony's life and disregards his wishes and treats him the way Victorian men treated their sick wives, and acts like Tony's eccentricities (like staying up all night in the lab and forgetting to eat) are indicative of Tony being a complete non-functional headcase and he therefore has to be controlled and stripped of making any choices of his own and treated like a young child? And the authors have Tony be all ~grateful to Steve for "fixing" him?

Because yeah....those are disturbingly common and always take Steve's side. I'd think that fic writers, who are mostly girls, would have more awareness of how fucked up that kind of behavior in a significant other is.
