ngl, pretty sure the only reason the Tumblr Sherlock fans are so butthurt is that they're acting elitist over their show. A lot of them haven't even read the original material and claim that 'Elementary is an illegitimate adaptation of Sherlock Holmes!' If it was just the fact that it looks like they might hook Sherlock and Joan up which would imply homophobia, irdc, but then, if that were the case, they wouldn't be so aggressive about hating it. tbh, I'm looking forward to Elementary, it looks interesting, and I hope it won't turn out to be just another procedural cop show. It has a lot of potential imo.

Potential to offend you mean?

Potential to offend women (Joan never was in the military and has lost her medical license), the mentally ill (this is more the fandom but if I see one more 'well mental ill don't dress nice!' I will scream), former drug addicts (and really this seems to be all they picked up from the original stories and lol Holmes did drugs!), people that practice BDSM (using it as code for 'deviant'), and anyone that loves the source material (Holmes and Watson aren't friends, Holmes did not decide that out of all people Watson was worth his time, Watson isn't around Holmes because he respects his mind, instead Watson is hired by Holmes' father and puts up with him for a pay check), you mean, right? I started fucking hating Sherlock due to Moffat's missteps, but of course American has to prove that what the British can fuck up we can fuck up harder.
