One of the things about made-for-girls clothes is that it can make you very aware of your body, for better or for worse. Guy clothes is still far more functional/more about comfort.

This. So. Much. I finally found a retailer that stocks mostly jeans with pockets that can hold more than just a condom, or a packet of gum. It's brilliant! I can actually use them to hold stuff instead of them just being annoyingly 'decorative'. Grmpf.

I only buy men's jeans for that reason. I'm also convinced that the fabric used to make men's clothes is about a million times more quality stuff than the flimsy tissue-paper used to make women's clothes. argle flargle blargle
