Yes, this. There are always fans who get upset when a band's sound changes, but honestly, is it that weird for peoples' tastes and expressions to change as they get older? What did they expect to happen? It's fine if a band has a distinctive sound they retain from album to album, but that's probably not the norm.

I don't get the hate, either way. I assume it's just some lame way for people to distinguish themselves as being True Fans.
