(Anonymous) 2012-09-15 03:42 am (UTC)(link)I've been speaking Japanese (work related mostly) for a good chunk of the past few years, and there are still occasions in RL where I'll screw up a pronunciation on a word/phrase and it comes out how I learned it before being formally taught. I can't think of obvious fandom examples using anime/manga names, but I recently said "O-baa-n" the other day instead of "O-bo-n" and didn't realize it until a friend pointed it out.
Western fandom...I still say "Rice" instead of "Reese" for Rhys from Torchwood, and that's not even Japanese.
