Greasy hair, pale sweaty skin, large bruised eyes, shaking voice - seems to me he's actually ill.

But yes, his hair was oily and slicked back in Thor, as well, so I guess at least that part is his personal taste. *g*

a lot of Sherlock fandom's fanon gets on my nerves. Like the thing about the milk. And the jam (which thankfully I see a lot less lately) and the hedgehogs and JAWN.
cloud_riven: Stick-man styled Apollo Justice wearing a Santa hat, and also holding a giant candy cane staff. (Default)

If that pilot has misled me, and these two characters don't make constantly want to gush about how cute and cuddly they are (Liu in the baseball hat, and Miller as Sir False Fronts A Lot &hearts ♥♥), I guess I have to settle for a likely decent and enjoyable CBS procedural.

Boy, white person. You are blowing my mind.

Two atoms ran into one another. One atom immediately cried out, "ow! I think I just lost an electron!" The other atom asked, "are you sure?" and the first atom said, "yes. I'm positive."

Such a good show! I really would like Michael and Walt to get some kind of resolution, though :(

I hadn't either, my eyes automatically zone in on the stunt doubles hand and Hemsworth's face. I did vaguely wonder if there was something different about the hair, but didn't look at it closely enough to notice the braid. Oops!

This picture man...god.

I'm sorry for your loss, too, anon. And thank you, that's an adorable/awesome set of stories. And I love the link.

Basically everything that JKR has said in an interview that the HP fandom then insists is "canon". Not how the concept of a canon works, kiddos.

(Wouldn't mind so much, but it so much of what she says shuts down potential queer readings of the text.)

the red pants trend in the fanart is getting tiresome too

So people who choose to work instead of getting a college diploma cannot be good role models? I agree, I mean yuck, all those stupid working-class people are indeed quite worthless and modelling, blah, that's like prostitution!

It's okay, though, because you, OP, will be there with your four doctorates to show guidance to the future generations! Bless your soul!

What if there was "crappy sexist gender-stereotyping", but it exists for the narrative to show how wrong it is?

I understand your frustration with people who refuse to read anything that isn't YA, but your attitude isn't helping your case.

People who think YA is the be-all end-all: For every type of YA that exists, there's an adult equivalent. Some of it is really very good. Not all adult literature is Literature With A Capital L. Some of it is very similar to YA, just with protagonists that are a bit older.

People who think YA is the pits: We should all be grateful that YA is booming. It gets more kids into reading, and kids who read are more likely to turn into adults who read. And some YA is really very good.

Everyone should read more, be willing to try (not necessarily like or even finish, but just try) new things, and seriously consider honest recommendations from people who know your tastes, even if it's not the type of thing you'd usually read. And also respect each other's reading habits even while you're making and taking suggestions.

We're reviewing electricity in school right now so I've got a lot more of them.

A neutron went to a bar, ordered some drinks, and had a good time. At the end of the night he asked the barkeep for his tab. The barkeep said, "for you? No charge."

...I think most people do school one term at a time. They just tend to string those terms together more.

Still doing that, are they? Oh, Sherlock fandom...

Hedgehogs are adorable, but for me that whole thing got old rather first. I know at one point you pretty much couldn't read fic without a mention of milk and jam, which got kinda annoying too. And I still don't get the JAWN thing.
