Fucking this. As for example, I live in California. If I wanted to cruise the Caribbean, I'd have to hop an airplane for six hours to get to the frickin' boat. Going to a Con in the UK (if I was EVER interested in going to a con) would require more money than I ordinarily have on hand or could even save, a plane ride across 3000 miles of land and then another plane ride across roughly 3000 miles of ocean.

AND I HAVE A PASSPORT. AND I'VE USED IT.

Wow, I'm amazed you lasted that long! Heroes went started going down hill after it turned out Sylar survived/became a more pivotal character, imo. By the time Adam died, that show was already in the grave.

I don't know too much about her, but I don't see how dropping out of university to pursue a career is a bad thing.

Like, seriously, the whole point of going to university and educating yourself is to improve your career options. She's just taking a very time-limited career right now - and apparently still going to school (even if spread out/part time).

This is kind of funny to me because I'd love it if het sex got the same attention buttsecks seems to. Every kink meme I've visited in the last year for ANYTHING, movie, TV show, is dominated by slash. Even if there are canon relationships and women coming out of the woodwork in the narratives, I've seen the vaginas shunted aside and ignored in favor of "they're so gay it's practically text OMGSQUEEEEEEE!!"

Movie Endings that Made You Go "NOOOOOOOOOO"

I just finished watching the movie "Tomboy", a French film from 2011. The ending just killed my soul a little, even if it was pretty realistic. What movie endings have torn you up?

Like, lots of spoilers





Oh god, when the credits rolled after "My name is Laure", I was seriously shocked it was over. I totally read the film as a story about Mikael, a trans boy, so to have the ending that forces him to be a girl just stung like hell. Then I go to TV Tropes, and all the descriptions have him as "Laure" and "she", even though he only had to do those things because he was forcibly outed by his mother. Aside from the last line, he never calls himself "Laure", and even his six year old sister knows he is Mikael.

I know being outed and forced into a female gender role is a very realistic ending for someone like Mikael, but I don't really see how people read it as a happy-ish ending. He lost his friends, girlfriend (even if he and Lisa do stay friends), has to watch his little brother grow up with something he can never have, and knows he cannot trust his mother. Gah, such a gut-punch of an ending.
