The "if Natasha was male" pairing already exists; it's Loki/Tony. Go play around there, if you like...except, you know, it's not het.

...wow, no, Natasha and Tony are nothing alike. Explain to me how Loki/Tony would have the same dynamics as Loki/Natasha.

They wouldn't, but shippers of both ships give pretty much the exact same excuses for why Natasha and Tony might, for some reason, willingly allow Loki to put his friend-stabbing, racist, fascist, genocidal hands on their bodies. Except the Loki/Tony shippers also think that Tony might fall in love with Loki because they both disliked their dads or something.

People who ship for fun because they like the dynamic, on the other hand, are generally far saner and more focused the actual personalities. Like the snarky banter for Loki/Tony, or the manipulative loner persona for Loki/Natasha.

Bingo. :)

I was working off of the reasons the OP was giving for their Natasha/Loki; they are the exact same ones given by Loki/Tony shippers.

Oh, I get where you're coming from now! I thought comment OP was bashing both ships, and since I ship them both (for very different reasons), I felt obliged to comment.

Comment OP was bashing no ships, I promise. Sorry that it came across that way. :)

A friend of mine explained yesterday why she shipped Loki/Natasha and now I ship both of these. Whoops. Well, I'm having fun anyway.
