Sometimes people like pregnancy and baby fics without wanting to have babies or become pregnant. It's true! There are some weird people around who, you know, read about things they don't actually want or will do in real life. Science has yet to find a way to explain it, but they're working on it!

Yep, I am closing in on menopause (come on, come on!), chose not to have any kids and have never regretted it for a second, and I have been known to read and enjoy mpreg.

I would have no problem with a friend telling me she wasn't interested in any type of fiction I had recced to her. I don't expect my friends to like everything I do, but I also expect them to speak up about things like that because, hey, I'm not psychic.

I'm one. I kind of love baby!fic but have absolutely no desire for children myself, and babies in person kind of creep me out.

I'm the opposite. I love babies and kids IRL (don't have any of my own and don't want any but I've always liked kids) - but I don't want to read about them in fic.

My fictional/shipping tastes usually run to angsty, messed-up, trainwrecky pairings, though, so kidfic is hard to do without AUs or going way OOC.

I hate babies and children in real life, but m/preg and kid fics are my biggest guilty pleasure.

A friend of mine, like you, loves kids. Has two of her own. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaates baby fic. She was beta-ing a story for me this summer, and I felt super awkward, because I had a fairly pivotal pregnancy arc in my character's backstory.
