Like the OP said, I can see why people would think she would be empathetic because she was also a bad guy in the past and knows what it feels like to want to turn from bad to good and to want to wipe out the red in your ledger.
I personally don't think she would empathize with Loki (*cough cough* BRAINWASHED HER BEST FRIEND *cough* KILLED HER BOSS *cough* CONQUERING A PLANET >>>>> ASSASSINATING A BUNCH OF PEOPLE *cough*), but I can see how some fans would think she might.
