I sorta agree when it comes to fanfic. But on the other hand, I've rarely seen canon stories where parents do go on adventures AND take care of their kids too. Like life suddenly stops once you become a parent and you're not allowed to have fun EVER. ;(

I have to admit, this was one reason I really liked The Incredibles - and they had to make the kids powered to do it, even then.

I loved The Incredible! I find it more forgiving then because both parents where super heroes, so their kids had to inherit super powers. Kinda like Sue Storm and Reed Richards's kids.
