Mad Men is a show I love discussing and analyzing the hell out of, but it does not spur my urge for fanfic at all. I can even think of all kinds of things one could explore in a fic (e.g. where you think an adult Sally will turn out or an elderly Don or Betty or Peggy looking back on their lives or maybe scenes from adult characters' childhoods or some of Beth's past...uh...liaisons and depressive cycles). But even without touching on the details of those things, the show still feels so complete.

It's like a really gorgeous, intricately decorated cake: you are supposed to start slicing it up and eating it, but you'd kind of rather just admire it rather than poking at it. :)
