I read something once that helped me:

Take it one step at a time. Don't think about it as Making An Appointment. Think of it 1. picking up the phone. 2. dial the phone. 3. make an appointment. - and think that at every step you are not cemented in. You can drop the phone. You can hang up. You can not even go to the appointment. No pressure!

Next step, on the day of your appt, do the same thing. Don't think of it as Going To Appt. Think of it as 1. Get car keys 2. Get in car. 3. Drive to office. Etc etc

And at each step remind yourself that you can stop at any time. Just break it down into easier more manageable steps and it may help take away some of the anxiety.

I like this advice! I've found that breaking things up into steps works for me too. Just take it one thing at a time. Good luck! :)
