LOLOL

I love how many of the 'young adult' recommendations aren't young adult at all.

some people have no fucking clue about catagories and the genre divisions. if it's something they enjoy, they have to label it 'young adult' or they're not edgy and unique.

bunch of fat ass losers who don't have the backbone to own up that they read genre and have to slap a 'young adult' label on it.

Wow. Issues much?

Or maybe the fact that there's a lot of overlap between adult and young adult, especially in fantasy, and depending on where you look the books could be classed as either one.

As well as an equally huge overlap between young adult and children, especially in fantasy.

What are you even...what?

I...what?

Do you honestly believe people are trying to cover up the fact that they enjoy fantasy by saying it's YA fantasy (a term which still has the word "fantasy" in it, and is therefore unlikely to be seen as anything other than uncool)? And on a fandom website full of unrepentant geeks, no less?

Were you dropped on your head?

wait what

Why would people be LESS willing to admit they read genre fiction than YA? I'd think YA would be the "more embarrassing" of the two. And considering where this conversation is taking place I seriously doubt anyone gives a damn whether they're caught reading genre fiction. I mean we're making secrets about anime and comic books.
