Is it the second or third book where she gets raped and tortured and has her feet crushed?

Wait...do you think YA means the main character is a young adult? Because...that's not what it means. It means the content is geared towards young adults.

Yes, and that doesn't mean that everything is roses. Bad things still happen. YA books can include rape and war and famine and torture and death - it's not the content but the way in which it's written and handled.

Third book. The second one is all about her and Kris getting snowed in and dealing with her angst-fueled psychic meltdown.
