You should unfriend her. Living around militant vegan/anti-animal abuse activists because my apartment was within walking distance of PETA head quarters, all you are going to get is an earful for asking her to stop it. As in, "I'll stop when animal abuse stops. Someone must speak up for the defenseless. blah, blah, blah."
If you are willing to hear this and know that you are just going to keep on getting disturbing pics, then go on, tell her. If not, unfriend her. You are not going to change her. She's on a mission. You're not. Again, I speak from experience. Oh, god, do I speak from experience.

Also, you've made me curious. Was your experience in any way like the self-riteous passive-aggressive note writing vegan roommate?

No. Not like that. Just that in certain parts of Norfolk, VA, you wouldn't want to be caught wearing a fur coat or a leather jacket. Or else you would be caught wearing a fur coat or leather jacket splashed in paint, a mouth stuffed full of anti-fur/leather pamphlets and your ears ringing from screams about what a horrible piece of filth you are. Remember this is the city that is home to PETA where they created a campaign to rename fish, "sea kittens" in hopes that people could not bring themselves to harm kittens. Logic is out the window and emotions have set camp.

Also, I knew PETA is crazier than a beagle in a vacuum factory, but "sea kittens"? Srsly?

when i was in high school there were a few militant types who hung around and harassed other students. this one really short little fucker one day had the audacity to grab a hotdog off my tray -- a hotdog i paid for out of the exactly $20/week i got for lunch those days -- and stomped on it in front of me, then yelled MEAT IS MURDER. the staff did nothing.

well, i did something.

i stood up.

i towered over him. i'm not the biggest guy ever by most standards but this little turd drop was tiny compared to me.

i gave him my meanest death glare, and pointed towards the lunch line.

5 minutes later i now have two hot dogs.

the only thing people like that kid understand is intimidation.
