I'm really happy that I never really got into the fandom. It was amusing to watch the show as some sort of trashy lulzy entertainment on lazy evenings because you don't need too many active brain cells to follow it, but the fandom seems to be full of pricks. And dear lord, again with the "all slashers are racist" bullshit. Maybe if you understood that POC are not a shiny fetish object but need actual character traits to be interesting and pairable you'd see why the pairings are so rare.

No one said slashers are racist. No one even said that shipping Derek/Stiles is racist. But ignoring and/or hating on POC characters is.

Also, do you honestly want to tell me that the fact that, somehow, women and POC in shows usually don't have "actual character traits" and are underdeveloped and ignored and unappreciated and deemed unpairable by writers and fandom alike is not, by itself, racist?
