I didn't say beloved, I said solid. Which means that the people that have read the fics said that the characters were IC, and yep, I asked for random, anonymous people over the internet to crit me as hard as they could and point out all my characterization errors so I could learn better. I also did, at the beginning, years ago, put up disclaimers saying I had never read the material. After that, I stopped posting those disclaimers and no one complained a bit. ;)

After a response like that, I hope I am in your fandoms, just to annoy you!

Some of the worst fanfic writers in fandom have tons of good reviews. Just because no one has complained doesn't mean your work is good. Either read the canon material or write for canons you actually do know.

Okay, you got me there. I've never read any of his/her fics so don't know for sure if the writing is bad or not. I just kinda think it's pointless writing for canon you have never read.

It's obviously fun for him/her. And it's apparently fun for the people reading it. But sometimes, while the characters and basic ideas of a fandom are interesting enough to keep you going, the writing/format/other factors make the actual television show/film/game/comic/other canon form too boring/grating/annoying to some people.

Please don't compare people on the Internet to Nazis. It's fucking offensive.

Just because some people have co-opted something that should be deeply offensive doesn't mean it's okay to keep doing it. You fucking fail at life.
