The PPC started out as an elitist pair of writers with a twisted sense of humor. Other elitist writers with twisted senses of humor joined in. The PPC Message board was full of really fascinating discussions about everything from Tolkien to politics to zucchini. The PPC stories were not the entire PPC-- the PPC was what happened when people who were fed up with stupid shit created a little refuge from it.

Maybe I'm romanticizing, but that place is gone, and I miss it.

Incidentally: yes, it's my secret.

FWIW, I agree with you. I used to lurk the PPC boards back in "the good old days". I've always wondered if I just grew out of it, or if it really did go downhill . . . so it's kind of nice to see someone else who remembers how it used to be.

I think I finally gave up on it almost entirely when there was somebody's death was faked on the board and it descended into wangst. It really did go downhill... *wistful sigh*
