And one more thing...age difference often has nothing to do with it. My favorite "parent/child" relationship is a nine years physical difference, between a 35 year old man with a 12 year olds body, and a 26 year old man with the emotional tantrum-throwing maturity of a toddler. Your point?

That sounds like kind of an unusual situation though, honestly.

Still, I think one would find that an opinion of parent'child situations spring up most commonly in angsty stories, situations where hurt/comfort fic abound, and thus has more to do with the characters emotionas than their physicalities
