I don't know, there are some things I think I'd feel pretty strongly about. I mean, I'd want to be with someone who I at least believed had basic good taste in things, so if someone was like, "Oh, I tried watching Breaking Bad and it just wasn't as good as Glee, I don't know why it wins any awards"... we probably would not be dating.

Personally, I don't mind if someone just does/doesn't like something (even if I'm sometimes like, WHY), but I think it's when they start making statements like "it's a ripoff Star Wars" that are blatantly false that I am like, nope.gif.

Yeah, there are some things that can give you a pretty good indication of someone's personality and how you'd get along. Especially if the reason they give boils down to *unintelligible*. For me, Firefly is one of them.

And being completely honest fandom is a huge part of my life and pretty much all of my references. I have no idea what I'd talk to a SO about if we didn't share at least some basic tastes.
