I'd like to add /straight to that list.

I'm asexual and kind of annoyed that fannon sexualises non asexual characters but never desexualises characters. Yes, slash is fun but sexualising someone who is asexual is a squick for a lot of people. Why can't more character relationships just be written as deep friendships without fucking?

/rant.

lmao asexies

That would just be called gen, you know. Or alternately (at least in Sherlock's case) the show itself. Don't complain about shippers shipping; most people can't conceptionalize romance without sexual attraction, so you get friendship instead.

Honestly, teenage girls like their hawt guy-on-guy pr0n, and Most Fanfic Writers Are Girls. So, for the same reason that canon is typically heterosexual (appeals to a wider audience), fanon is typically homosexual. Us asexuals just have to write our own fanfiction.

Also, there is an asexual Sherlock comm on LiveJournal. http://asexy-sherlock.livejournal.com/

This middle aged borad would like to sue you for ageism. Then get back to writing slashfic.

SA

Broad, even.

So you're saying you're squicked by a kink that you don't share, and imply that kinksters shouldn't seek pleasure? YKINMK and all that, fucking deal with it. You have two main options:

A) Gen
B) CANON

I'd like to add /asexual to that list too because the canon material nowhere states Sherlock's sexuality.

99.99% of characters that asexuals like to platform as asexual, are not canonically asexual. Just because the character in question doesn't have a relationship with anyone doesn't make him/her asexual. s/he could be asexual, but also could not. yes, that includes sherlock.
