Re: screwed up touchscreen phone
(Anonymous) 2012-09-21 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)There are many reasons for ghosting. For some people, it was a bad facebook app. (I removed it just in case but it didn't solve my issue.)
If you have a plastic screen protector, try taking that off and giving the screen a very thorough cleaning.
If you're using a third party usb/power cable, try using a motorola cable. Apparently, it's sensitive and third party doesn't always make it right.
If that fails, try returning to factory default.

If that fails, cook it.

For me, the only thing that worked was cooking it. Instead of an oven, I just removed the battery and memory card from my phone and left it touchscreen face down on a candle-warmer for 20 minutes. (I use the candle-warmer as a keep-coffee-hot-plate at work.) It has raised edges so no part of the phone was actually touching the hot plate. Then let it cool for a couple hours.
It still acts funny if it's too hot or too humid but works well enough to be usable.
Good luck!
