Operative word "seem" - because you're an idiot.

Or because I've never been able to hold a conversation in fandom with a woman and not have it turn to shipping within five sentences. Fucking fangirls.

I doubt you'd be missed

Do yourself a favor then, asshole, and get the fuck out of fandom.

Hell no. Fandom needs a lesson in how to have intelligent conversation (read: something that isn't about shipping or how hot you find a cartoon character).

//that isn't about shipping or how hot you find a cartoon character//

TBQH it may not be about being female but about being pre-pubescent far earlier than they should be, physiologically. Hormones make you crazy even in the most optimal of adolescences. I think that explains 75% of fandom on the Internet and its problematic obsession with a topic it cannot actually understand -- we hope anyway -- since they are all in that weird limbo between childhood and adulthood. Not even taking into account the fact that due to nutrition -- and who knows growth hormones in the food supply LOL -- puberty is starting to occur way way way way earlier than it used to. So their brains are not as developmentally ready to undergo the soup of hormones they are being inundated by. With the results we see before us.

I'd be more willing to buy that if I didn't observe this phenomenon only among women, and especially women in their 20s, long after puberty. I'm not even saying that the mostly-guy fandoms I hang out in have never had locker-room talk about female characters they find hot, because they totally do. But they're at least able to sustain conversations about other things. The women in fandom? In my experience shipping and lusting after characters is literally all they ever talk about.

If someone is talking about how hot a ship/male character is, you're probably going to assume they're female. If someone is talking about the character/show without focusing on romance, you're not going to make any assumptions of their gender and they're probably not going to announce it. Since you're already biased, you're going to assume that anyone who talks in-depth about a fandom is male, and ignore female fans who may disprove your assumption.

lol, you sound like a female shipper
