I'm not shipping them, but they sure have lots of chemistry. Also, it's not dumb to care about Twin Peaks. :) I still love the show, too.

Like people said below, it's probably good they didn't get together, since it's kind of squicky, but they had a lot of chemistry. Also, Sherilyn Fenn is gorgeous.

And if caring about Twin Peaks is dumb, then I'm a big dumbhead. That show is so damn good.

TP was the only TV show I ever scheduled my work hours around; of course, nowadays with DVR and torrents that would be a ridic thing to do, but I never did it for any other show even when it would've been understandable to.

The end broke my heart :( And yeah, I shipped them too.

I'm glad it didn't. It would have been unprofessional of him to date a teenage girl while working on a case (especially one that she was peripherally involved in), and I'm pretty sure it would have made me like him less. It seemed a little too like hero worship and it didn't seem like Cooper to take advantage of that. Even the hints at it made me pretty uncomfortable. I know that's David Lynch's thing, but he was kinda supposed to be the good guy.

+1 I would not have liked it if Cooper had gotten involved with her so I was glad when it got completely dropped.

She was in high school and it just would have felt skeevy.

Agreed. I'm glad Kyle McLaughlin put a stop to it. That would have been so inappropriate and OOC for Cooper. She had a crush on him, he turned her down as nicely as possible and she got over it. Best way it could have been dealt with.

One of the rare cases where the actor made the decision to squash the pairing. (He thought that Cooper would never be with a high school girl.)

THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE. Because, Annie and ... omg, so much. *sigh*

But there are lots of us who still care and love Twin Peaks. Always!!!!

Arghhhhhhhhhh yes. The reasoning behind it was so inane -- "Coop would never be with a high school girl!" And then he hooks up with the ex-nun after like three days? WOW, YOU STRIKE ME AS SUCH A NOBLE AND UPSTANDING GUY AND THIS MADE SO MUCH SENSE FOR YOUR CHARACTER.

Brb, gonna watch some Twin Peaks tonight....

There's always someone like me who is just now getting around to watching it and is a little excited to see secrets like this :)

God, I shipped them so hard but at the same time I'm kind of glad they didn't get together. I think Coop is just too classy to go after a teenage girl. Maybe if the show had lasted longer and she'd gotten a bit older... But still, the new love interests they gave them were terrible. Worst idea ever.

Really? I always thought they were such a boring, schoolgirl-kink male fantasy and I always had so much second-hand embarrassment for Audrey.

It's not dumb.

The show happened. It is part of the annals of television history. If it touched you, then you might very well care about it until the end of your days, and there is nothing wrong with that.

People still care about books that were written decades ago, nay, books that were written centuries ago! What's wrong with caring about a show that aired within our lifetimes?

Ha, was so disappointed when this didn't happen. Cooper > everyone else in that town. I'd have gone after him, too.

Once held out hope that Pretty Little Liars, being the new TP, would fill the void for this type of ship, but um, no.

I've never watched this but tbh they even LOOK like they'd be dynamic and interesting together.

I actually met Sherlyn Fenn. I mentioned how Audrey and Coop were my favorite couple and I wished that they would have gotten together. She told me why the couple never worked....

True Story: The reason Coop never got together with Audrey is because his IRL girlfriend (the girl who played Donna) was super jealous and kept giving him crap every time he had a seen with Sherlyn Fenn!! It got so bad that the producers finally just paired them up with other people in an attempt to stop all the crazy drama.

Twin Peaks was awesome and it's totally fine to care about it!

Don't approve of the dating-teenage-girl thing, but the chemistry was off the charts.

But Twin Peaks was a good show!

I'm ambivalent towards whether they got together or not, although both of them (as characters and as actors) are amazing, but if they really didn't want them together they could have gone a better way about it :/

I always thought it made sense for him to try and shut that down because he was such a boyscout and she WAS in high school, but Annie was not an improvement.
