(Anonymous) 2012-09-22 04:16 am (UTC)(link)2. Odin will be killed by one of Loki's children during the apocalypse.
So, yeah, you don't know your Norse mythology.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-22 04:39 am (UTC)(link)Because clearly, in Norse mythology, Loki tried to take over the world by letting aliens into New York City and then got his ass beaten into the ground by a gamma-radiated scientist. Also, in Norse mythology, Thor totally went to New Mexico this one time and ate lots of poptarts before he got caught by secret agents, and then later got in a brawl with a human in high tech armor and then spent some time chilling on a flying aircraft carrier. That totally happened in Norse mythology.
Saying Marvel's Asgard is remotely like Norse mythology is like saying Disney's Hercules is anything like Greek mythology. Except even worse.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-22 05:03 am (UTC)(link)You think you're SO SMART for knowing some myth, people like you love to wave it around as a "people are so ignorant!" But really? There's a lot of us with a pretty good grasp on it who think you're full of shit.
tl;dr movie characterisations =/= myth characterisations. also, LOLLLL.

Why, because I pointed out that it makes sense from a mythology point of view, which a lot of people don't care about mixing with movie canon, little that it is.
It's really fucking sad that people wouldn't at least try to find out the inspiration for a character.
