yey you :) i myself have always found it quite empowering to look "girly", and it helps you get by in business better as well...we live in a world where perception is key, and i prefer to have some sort of control over how i am perceived

Well, as long as you don't think "empowering" in and of itself means "acceding to the misogynist male capitalist gaze", because the only reason you get any power is because they, personally, approve of your femininity. That's not feminism, that's how women have gotten any kind of power or approval in any misogynist society ever. May as well say heterosexual marriage and children is empowering for the same reasons.

It's great that liking femininity happens to line up with social approval, but it's a fiction that the conditional approval is by itself progressive. But happening to have the happy coincidence that liking femininity also gets you social power, is fortunate; enjoy it.

Life's been easier for me since I went more femme.
