This. I loved the series, but just. There's nothing there for me in the fandom. Shinra/Celty is my favorite ship, I think they're fucking adorable. But. Nope. I adore Walker/Erika, too. And any combination of Kida/Mikado/Anri. And Shizuo/Celty. And Izaya/Namie. Hell, I ship Celty/Anri. But no matter how many ships you have, no matter how logical or illogical based on the canon they are, if you don't ship Shizaya, there is no reason to be in this fandom. That makes me sad.

There's been some half-decent fic on AO3 that's not all Shizaya.

I keep hoping people who ship other things or care about other characters will contribute more too :(

I should go looking for it eventually. One thing that made my life was getting my hands on some cute Shinra/Celty doujinshi recently. I know there IS stuff out there, but it's so few and far between that it's hardly worth it to dig...

Yeah, same here. I know I'm not helping by not contributing, but just. It seems like such a lost cause. If there ever was an upsurge of ships I like I'd jump on and help out, though.

Yeah that's so true. I mean there are a lot of fandoms where one pairing is dominant, hell most fandoms. But rarely is it to the LEVEL of dominance that Shizaya has.

Exactly. I don't mind that Shizaya exists! It's not my thing but it's fine that people ship it. What isn't fine is how no other ship gets any love at all most of the time. The only other fandom I've ever seen that's even close to being this bad is Princess Tutu with Fakir/Ahiru, but even then pretty much any combination of the main 4 characters is generally accepted and you can probably find something for it.

Yes! I would say that Sherlock/Watson in the SH fandom is about as predominant, but it's also a MUCH, MUCH smaller cast so it's not as odd.
